Before work begins
- Confirm departure status and that entry is authorised.
- Check the next arrival time, occupancy and approved special requests.
- Prepare the correct linen, amenities, keys and access devices.
- Read the previous handover for faults, damage or guest items left behind.
- Identify any urgent work that could prevent the room being sold safely.
02
Clean and inspect
- Work through the property in the same room order each time.
- Clean high-touch points, bathrooms, kitchen areas, floors and guest-facing surfaces to the property standard.
- Check under furniture, inside storage areas and behind doors for left items or missed debris.
- Test lights, heating or cooling, essential appliances and access devices.
- Record damage, unusual wear, pests, leaks or faults immediately.
03
Reset the guest experience
- Make beds and place towels consistently according to occupancy.
- Restock approved guest consumables to the defined level.
- Return furniture, controls, information and amenities to their standard positions.
- Confirm the room temperature, lighting and presentation suit the expected arrival.
- Remove staff equipment, rubbish and internal notes from guest view.
04
Final room-ready inspection
- Use a person other than the cleaner where practical, or pause and re-enter with a fresh inspection mindset.
- Stand at the entrance and review the first impression before checking details.
- Confirm cleanliness, presentation, function, stock, security and access.
- Photograph or record evidence required by the property process.
- Mark the room ready only after defects are resolved or formally accepted by the authorised manager.
